Hundreds of future teachers will gather at the Convention site. Be sure to welcome them and encourage them about a career in education.

BEST OF THE BEST: Fun Night and Impact Silent Auction

7:30-9:30 p.m., Windsor Ballroom

Join your colleagues and MSTA staff for a night of fun! Costumes are always optional! Interpret the theme BEST OF THE BEST and dress up as “your best year” or maybe the best superhero or character from history. Let your imagination run wild!

  • Silent auction: Help the Impact Committee generate funds to support candidates who support public education. Bid on great prizes in the silent auction and join the fun for a short live auction at 9 p.m.

MORENET OPEN HOUSE

Make time to explore the MOREnet Immersive Learning Lab (MILL) during one of its two open house sessions available to MSTA members.

The MILL showcases the latest STEAM resources for classrooms, including robotics, coding, virtual reality and other classroom tools. Try out the technology to find what would work best for your students.  

The MILL is open for MSTA members on Thurs., Nov. 9 from 4-7 p.m. and on Fri., Nov. 10 from 12-3 p.m. It is located close to the Holiday Inn Executive Center, at:

Dinner with friends

6 p.m., Off-site

New this year! Meet new colleagues and friends in a small group setting: Join fellow MSTA members for small gatherings at restaurants across Columbia. MSTA will make dinner reservations for groups of six on Thurs., Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. Find the reservation that interests you and reserve your spot. Arrive at the meet-up spot and travel to the restaurant together. Pay for your own meal when you’re ready to leave. Have a good meal and make meaningful connections.

Ballroom Bash

8-10:30 p.m., Windsor

Thursday evening will be a time of relaxation and fun. Participants are on their own for dinner, but there will be plenty of desserts back at the hotel in Windsor Ballroom. Activities include recognition of MSTA’s outgoing president and dancing with SoulRoot, or conversation and board games across the hall in Parliament with a photo booth. The South Central Region is sponsoring the photo booth and door prizes.

Wellness walk/run (approximately 1 mile)

Registration 5:30-6:15 a.m. in the Atrium.
